MYSTERY SURROUNDS plans for the Great Bear Distribution site located in Deshorough. Northamptonshire, after Fowler Welch-Coolchain submitted an application to base 25 vehicles and 35 trailers there.
The firm opened the temperaturecontrolled 46.500m facility two years ago in order to service its contract with Mars, which it won in March 2006 following a tender.

A spokesman for Great Bear said the company would not be commenting on the application. The greenfield site has 70,000 pallet positions in four chambers: 58 loading bays with four level access doors; and four automated vehicle off-load bays.
