Ingersoll-Rand Air Solutions has launched a compact rotary compressor that operates from 5.5-11kW.
Called Unigy, the compressor uses a high-speed induction motor with integrated variable frequency drive and speed control. Frequent stop and restart cycles do not risk overheating due to the 'gentle start' facility, which also offers extremely low power consumption on start-up, full-load and part-load conditions.
