-1-1. A CENTRE of Transport Studies is to be established at Leeds University in which the economics of transport will be studied with . planning and engineering problems.
The Centre will be responsible for developing research in the transport field and for teaching at a post-graduate level. The work and development planned for the Centre will involve an expenditure of about £20,000 to £25,000 a year. At present, grants fo cover approximately £6,000 a year have been made.
The scheme will involve the establishment of two chairs—one in transportation economics and one in transportation engineering.
