MR. K. C. TURNER, president of the TRTA and TRU will chair a conference to be held in Dusseldorf on March 29 and 30 under the auspices of IRU, the International Federation of Forwarding Agents Associations (FIATA) and the International Union of Public Transport (UTTP).

The objects of the conference are to review the general position regarding professional training in the road haulage industry in Western Europe and to make a detailed study of two aspect— facilities for recruitment into the industry and proposals for methods of financing professional training schemes.

Papers will cover systems of training drivers in the Federal Republic of Germany and the Netherlands and the problems of entering the road haulage industry. Further details can be obtained from The European Institute for Vocational Training, 153 Avenue Victor Hugo, Paris.
