ROCHDALE IGNORES NATIONAL SCALES

LETTERS have been sent to Rochdale .1-4 Transport Committee by the Federation of Municipal Passenger Transport Employers and the committee of Area C of the Municipal Passenger Transport Association upon the departure from nationally negotiated agreements by Rochdale in granting increased wages to platform staffs. These awards were made following concessions by neighbouring authorities on similar services.

The Federation stressed the need for implicit observance of national agreements, and the Area C committee urged the strongest possible resistance to local applications which contravened such agreements.
