Huffolk driver Paul Dewing ended up with a ticket that lasts a lifetime when he was stopped for speeding in Stowmarket by WPC Lesley Corcoran.
A mix-up over the line led to 22-year-old Paul complaining in person to his local magistrates' office in Bury St Edmunds, where he was charmed by the attentions of magistrates clerk Hazel Carter, 24. When she phoned to apologise for the mix-up, Paul asked her out. One thing led to another and this month the couple got married.
As for WPC Corcoran — who can spot a fast worker when she sees one — she was guest of honour at the wedding.
