Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Kirkcudbright operator Willie Riddet's Mercedes-Benz 1748 tractive unit has been equipped with the latest Granning Lynx mid-lift-axle conversion. The 6.5-tonne axle was developed for chassis where space is restricted.

Air bags are mounted outboard above the axle on shortened spring beams, and coil springs used to lift the axle are housed in the front hanger.

The rebadged 2848 tractive unit is said to be more manoeuvrable, lighter and to give better traction than the 2035 twinsteer. With a triaxle trailer and on-board fork-lift the payload is more than 20 tonnes.
