IN AN attempt to encourage the French Government to improve road links in the north and Channel port regions, the EEC is contributing about £100,000 toward feasibility studies on a new route between Douai and Valenciennes.
The EEC is also underwriting the cost of a similar study between Mauberge and Jumont.
News of this assistance came in a reply from the Commission to a question tabled at the June session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
