Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

In your issue of June 18 on page 30 you described the work being carried out under the sponsorship of the Local Government Training Board at the Bath driver training centre. We would like to correct any impression which might have been given that this Bath centre is an -extension" of the RTITB Motec at High Ercall.

The instructors at the Bath Driver Training Centre were indeed trained at Motec and the level of instruction is up to RTITB standard.

There however, limitation on the courses offered there, in so far as instruction is confined to Class II and Class Ill vehicles only and any instructor at Bath who may be engaged on training trainees up to Class I standard would, of necessity, have to attend a further week's course at Motec on this class of vehicle.

The arrangement which exists between the Local Government Training Board and RTITB is that LOTS Will accept applications from employers within the RTITB scope who only require instructors competent to train up to Class ll standard, whilst the RTITB will offer facilities for any local government establish

ment which requires the higher grade instructor training.

I would like to add that the arrangements between the two training boards have been worked out in an atmosphere of the fullest harmony and mutual support.

TONY ENGLISH Public Relations Officer, RTITB
