Works and Schools Seii4e0 Clash : Tyneside. bus undertakings-have warned that difficulties will he encountered coping with the extra traffic when local shipyards and engineering workers finish at 4.30 p.ma starting from July 5, instead of the present finishing time of 4.45 .p.m, The earlier times will clash with school bus services and with the services for thousands of civil servants employed at the Ministry Of Pensions head offices at Longbenton, who also finish at 4.30 p.m. A meeting with shipyard and engineering employers has been arranged to see if the matter can he resolved.

New Bonus Scheme: A new bonus scheme for bus employees has been drawn up by Sunderland Corporation transport committee, following rejection of the original plan by the NJIC. The new plan does not include length-of-Service payments. but provides for an increase in the good-conduct bonus. A payment of 12s. 6d. weekly Will he granted for good conduct, timekeeping and efficient service.
