He said it was difficult to carry official boxes on a bus. But what about all the people who manage with luggage, shopping or children? But at least Freeman has now agreed to give up his official car for a week to test the capital's public transport.
Let's hope he is better briefed than Environment Minister Tony Baldry who earlier this year boarded a one-man bus and waited upstairs for his fare to be collected.
