Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AN AGREEMENT has been accepted by Locomotors Ltd to market a sliding-roof mechanism made by Ed Scharwachter KG of West Germany.

The mechanism carries the trade name of Edscha and has been in service in Europe for several years. The sliding roof is claimed to give a flat or dropside truck the combined flexibility of van operation.

The sliding roof section moves forward on roller bearings taking with it the whole tilt cover. The roof sheet automatically folds as the mechanism moves. The whole operation of dismantling and re-assembly can be done in about five minutes by one man.

Besides the full-tilt application the mechanism is available for roof operation only, so that it can be used for fixed-side vehicles such as bulk grain, open-top containers and side curtained bodies.

The units can be fitted by Locomotors at its Barlows Lane, Andover, factory or the company will supply the units for the operator to fit himself. The mechanism is tailored to suit any vehicle and the range of lengths range from 1.8 to 12.2m (6ft to 40ft).

Below. The Edscha sliding roof is available from Locomotors in lengths ranging from 1.8m to 12.2m (6ft to 401t).
