Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Road safety should be paramount and in this day and age we should not knock anything which can contribute towards it, says Mr X.

I can't stand whingers and I'm not sorry. This industry has all kinds of problems which are not our fault yet it seems you cannot turn around without hearing someone complain about a judgement which they clearly invited. Why do people refuse to take responsibility for their own actions? It must always be the government's fault or the enforcement agencies fault anyone's fault but their own that they were driving for two days without a break or they had disabled their speed limiter.

One group which particularly frustrates me are those who rail against speed cameras. Newsf lash: you won't get caught speeding if you don't speed. Nor do you have to brake hard before a camera causing other traffic to cannon into your backside. The sad truth is that the majority of those who object to speed cameras object to being asked to follow rules which the rest of us recognise as being for the public good.

As for burning or destroying them, it's bang out of order. Proponents are as guilty as a kid who burns down the classroom because he doesn't want to go to school. Grow up.

There are two problems with people avoiding speed cameras with the use of gizmos and making claims to MPs and anyone else who will listen.

Firstly, they are missing the point about developing safe driving practices. Good, defensive drivers do not need to manipulate or complain about the system because safety is always their first concern.

Secondly, there are serious arguments to be made about the share of public money allocated to various enforcement methods. But any sensible person accepts we need a range of resources, including a well resourced group of traffic cops.

Adolescent railing by those whose fundamental complaint is simply that they got caught drowns productive debate in tabloid noise. Hush let the grown-ups talk! "Good, defensive drivers do not need to manipulate or complain about the system ... safety is their first concern"
