• The Petroleum Regulations, issued by the British Institute of Petroleum, are designed to ensure safe operations in refineries. Compliance is usually required before tankers are allowed onto sites. Because the Pet Begs contain more precise specification requirements than ADR, vehicles that comply with the ADR FL category will net necessarily meet the Pet Begs requirements.
Additional requirements over and above ADR include sparkresistant brakes, cab fire screens and the removal of cigarette lighters and roof hatches.
