TROUBLES reported by many Road

Haulage Association members as a result of the waxing of diesel fuel in low temperatures have lead Mr, J. T. W. Parnell, West Midland area secretary, to commence inquiries throughout his district for precise details of operators' experiences. By this means information can be classified with the object of preventing a recurrence of this serious problem.

Large numbers of hauliers in the Midlands and elsewhere have made general reports regarding their experiences but now they will have an opportunity of contributing factual details.

Operators have suggested that those who have experienced this difficulty should make returns indicating all types and makes of vehicle used,,,the grades of fuel being employed, if possible the temperatures at which waxing occurred and a note of whether it happened after the vehicle had been standing or whilst actually running. Where instances of waxing have happened when the Vehicle has been away from base, the actual location would also be helpful since discussions indicate that the factor is one that has been affecting considerable numbers of operators throughout the country.
