Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

out an impending flat tyre has been developed by Magnavox Co., of Fort Wayne, U.S.A. Primarily designed for lorries and buses, the instrument comprises a pressure switch in the tyre-valve stem and a mercury battery-powered transmitter on the road wheel. When a tyre pressure falls below a set level the switch is operated and the transmitter sends a radio signal via an antenna on the axle to a small receiver on the dashboard, where a red light or buzzer gives warning.

The failing tyre is then located by removing the indicator unit—about the size of a pocket transistor radio—and holding it near to each road wheel in turn. When the red indicator bulb lights the slack tyre • is found. The makers say the cost will be from £54.

I.M.I. in N. Wales rlA REGIONAL. committee is to • be formed by the Institute of the Motor Industry to promote its.a.' ctivities in North . Wales. Mr. S. E. Thompson, Francis Garage Ltd., Associated Firms, Colwyn Bay, is to be chairman.
