• A Manchester-based haulier has lost a third of his fleet, half his warehousing equipment and all his Offices in a fire which swept through his depot late last Sunday evening.
Alan Winterbottom, the managing director of Trafford Park-based Bergen Transport, says he is 'trying to pull his business together again" after losing 19 of his 57-strong trailer fleet. "We do not know what the cause of the blaze was," says Winterbottom. "It is being fully investigated."
However, he rules out any question that the fire was arson.
