• A metal recycling firm has been charged in West Bromwich Magistrates Court following the death of a driver.
Midlands-based European Metal Recycling has been charged with failing to ensure, so far as was reasonably practical. the health and safety of a worker. The firm pleaded not guilty and the case was adjourned until 13 April.
Driver John Payne of Appleby, Cumbria died following an incident at European Metal Recycling's site on 16 June last year. He was working for John Beaty Transport of Penrith, Cumbria.
