Amanda Brewster, daughter of Vincent Brewster whose F Goldsmith (Sicklemere) recently had its licence revoked, has been refused by Eastern TC Compton Boyd. The Commissioner was not satisfied about the maintenance arrangements or the repute of the transport manager, Brewster.
Failed bid III A bid for a new fivevehicle international licence by Dartford-based Trans European Distribution at Gravesend, has been turned down by the South Eastern & Metropolitan TC.
Goodlad goes • The licence held by South Yorkshire haulier Eric Goodlad, trading as Goodlad Transport, was revoked when he failed to attend a Leeds disciplinary inquiry Goodlad was also disqualified from holding or obtaining an 0Licence for two years.
Haywire Howard • Lancaster ownerdriver Jacob Howard, who has held a licence since 1948, was warned about maintenance at a Manchester public inquiry. Howard told North Western TC Martin Albu that he had been ill and things had "gone a bit haywire".
Council objects • A bid by Telford-based Michael Ostapcukz to change his operating centre has been turned down following an objection from Wrekin District Council.
Shorter trip • West Midland Traffic Commissioner John Mervyn Pugh is considering curtailing the duration of the licence held by Readytrip, of Kidderminster.
