Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE MYTH that Japanese workers are sycophants who are born into bondage is exploded by the obstacles that trade-union leaders have placed in the way of Nissan's establishment of a British factory. The company has had to fight its employees every inch of the way to embark even on its scaled-down project for vehicle construction, including perhaps light vans, in Britain.

Some Japanese firms have blamed intractable British unions for their reluctance to invest in this country. Nissan union leaders are not overenamoured of Britain, either, and think that priority in overseas investment should be given to America.

British unions will now have an opportunity to show their Japanese counterparts that they are wrong in believing that Nissan's new project will be unprofitable, and that with the more enlightened industrial " relations now developing in this country, workers are willing to take their share of responsibility for their companies' prosperity.
