Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

UTANY visitors to the recently held /itiPublic Health ExhibitiOn and Congress were interested in the Crystal window washer shown by Progressive Utilities, Ltd., Sardinia House, Kingsway, London, W.C.2. This is a

device which is widely used by garages, etc., throughout the country.

It consists of a neat and strongly constructed metal tank measuring N ins. by 31 ins., at one side of which is mounted a substantial felt pad, whilst a rubber squeegee is held in position by a handle which is screwed into a socket provided in the tank. This handle is split to give the spring necessary for the addition of a broomstick where this is required. The tank has an ordinary cork for filling, for which purpose plain water is used.

The squeegee device can be fitted in the manner illustrated, but it is more usual to reverse it so that it lies close to the tank and is further supported and positioned by the lip on this.

The windOw or windscreen is rubbed briskly with the felt, which is kept damp by the water, and the polishing is done by the squeegee. Demonstrations have shown the effectiveness of the appliance, which is marketed at 7s. 6d,, and spare felts and rubbers are available.
