2 MAN has been criticised by a Midlands haulier for failing to act over allegedly poor customer service provided by one of its dealers, and botching orders.

Martin Wiles, of Peterborough-based haulage contractor BC Wks & Son, says he ordered three new chassis-cabs--when they arrived they were all the wrong colour. "This is not the first time it has happened although we have always had identical fleet colours," he says.

"One of the vehicles needed an axle conversion. I was promised that this would be completed within a week. Three weeks later the job has still not been done."

He says he then resorted to contacting the sales manager, who said he would visit him with the dealer, but neither ever appeared. A spokesman for MAN says the allegations are being investigated: "It was a bit of a supplier problem.

"However. the paint job will be done at MAK's expense and the regional sales manager will be making an appointment to see the haulier concernedhe says.

"From time to time there's going to be a disgruntled customer due to the large number of trucks we service," he adds.
