• Three of the I iauliers stopped in roadside checks by DOT vehicle examiners on the A120 at Elmstead Market, Essex have appeared before Harwich Magistrates.

L Owner driver Jeffrey Wardle, trading as LW Transport of Shepshed, Leics was fined £1,050 for having defective brakes, a partially bald tyre and no 0-licence.

Owner-driver Derek Martin of Necton. Norfolk was fined £100 with £40 costs after admitting to having defective brake lights on his trailer.
