From small fastener work in body shops to heavy duty jobs on trucks and off the road equipment, Consolidated Pneumatic manufacture a complete line in air wrenches. By choosing the correct air tool to suit the application there is a choice between CP light or heavy duty 3/ain wrenches with either trigger or butterfly-type throttle and a full range of 1/2in wrenches.
Of these perhaps the most popular is the CP 724. Combining small size and lightweight with an ultimate torque 373Nrn (275ft/lb) it is the ideal tool for overall automotive servicing, farm and light truck work.
Bigger vehicles and heavy equipment need the extra power of 3/4in and lin wrenches and the iCP797-6 lin square drive air wrench falls into this category. It weighs less than 13.6kg (301b) and is designed mainly for heavy duty tyre work. With its 152mm (6in) extended shank, the CP797 is excellent for tackling fasteners in deep wheels.

Deb has produced a completely new drum head, degreasing bath for manual use. Known as the Super Airop, it is claimed to combine dil the advantages of both pneumatic and electrically operated systems. Because there is no electric motor or pump, the makers say that there are no maintenance requirements.
DEB's 4 System Super Airop offers four ways of degreasing. The Super Airop may be used as a soaking bath capable of holding solvent up to a predetermined safety level. This level is quickly reached by flooding from a 2in diameter uptake tube.
To further improve and hasten the cleaning process, the bath filled with solvent can be air-agitated.
The Super Airop delivers a rapid flow of solvent through a durable flowthrough brush with stiff nylon bristles — designed to bite through hardened filth and oil mixtures in minimum time. Alternatively, solvent can be diverted through a flexible nozzle to clean out oilways or tubes.
Added to these is the provision of a safe air gun for cleaning off excess fluid which no electrically operated bath is likely to offer. The Super Airop has a Splashback also in Stainless steel which doubles as a fire smoothing lid. Mounted on this is a bulkhead light so that the unit can be used in a dark corner, provided air/electric connections are available. The fall of the splashback automatically cuts off air supply to both drum and bath.

Durnbury's overhead self-retracting hose reel system of vehicle exhaust fume extraction is already widely used in workshops.
The chief advantage the system is claimed as being that the hose is at hand only when needed. The hose can be locked at the required working length, and when not in use retracts onto the reel. The reels can be ceiling-or wall-mounted.
Exhaust fumes . are extracted directly from source and expelled through the wall or roof of the workshop, so conserving heat. The exhaust connector nozzle — linking the hose to the vehicle's exhaust pipe — is suitable for the majority of most vehicle exhausts, without need for additional adaptors.
The Maxilight does not have a separate choke — the 406mm (16in) cable carries built-in resistance for the fluorescent tube. The standard unit is compact and combined with the carrying hook, makes for easier usage in all those tight spots.
The Durnbury range of vacuum cleaners can handle a variety of cleaning operations and are available in drum sizes ranging from a 13.5 litre (2.97g) capacity to a 67.5 litre (14.9g) capacity, and the drums are on two castors and (25in) diameter synthetic wheels. The company has introduced a new multi-purpose hose/cable reel which is of compact design and can be wall, vehicle or floormounted.
The multi-purpose unit has four reels enabling four hoses or cables to be wound on without becoming twisted or entangled. The liquid is fed directly into the non-rotating spindle at the side of the reel. It then travels along the hose reel hub and through a short connection into the hose, which is attached to a triggeroperated nozzle or a standard fitting.
Using suitable hose, vacuum can be applied to transfer liquids from tanks and containers.
The cable reel is fitted with sliprings and brushes which allows the incoming power cable to be connected to non-rotating terminals without the cable becoming entangled.
The hose or cable is usually fed out by hand, but is reeled in by an electric motor through a reduction gear and chain drive. The adjustable retarding brake prevents overspin when the hose or cable is pulled out by hand.
The unit is made from steel/stainless steel or steel/aluminium, depending on requirements, and measures 110cm (43in)(width) x 134cm (52.8in)(length) x 150cm (59in)(high) and weighs approximately 475kg (10471b),
