been recommened to the Secretary of State or the Department of Employnent by the Road Transport ndustry Training Board. At a neeting this week the Board Treed that the standard of 1 Der cent of employee emolunents should apply to the 974-1975 grants scheme.
It also decided to recomnend that the levy exclusion ioint should be raised and that ?.mployers whose employee moluments do not exceed the following amounts in the financial year 1974-1975 will not be levied : Passenger transport £36,000 : Agricultural machinery £15,000 : Other sectors £12,000.
To assist employers in the budgeting of their training the RTITB has forecast the follow ing " point " values for 1974-1975. It will be seen that for the first time both minimum and maximum values are forecast. The Board believes this new arrangement will prove an incentive to employers.
