Amongst the motor coaches lined up on the promenade at Easter was one ancient horse-drawn vehicle, whose owner was reducing his charges to absurdity in the hope of attracting custom. The lady, 'like John Gilpin's spouse, had a frugal mind. " Let's take the 'orse one, 'Army," she urged; " it's only 'arf the fare." " Sharry-bangs be blowed " retorted 'Army. "Meter-bangs fer me, every time!"
