Kuehne + Nagel. takes Ben Hur Live on European trip
KUEHNE + NAGEL is to transport the Ben Hur Live stage show across Europe. The company will transport all stage materials to and from 14 European locations, using 36 K+N tractors with mega trailers [but no chariots? — Ed].
The show, which had its premiere at London's 02 arena last weekend, is organised by Art Concerts, and is based on the Oscar-winning 1950s movie that starred Charlton Heston (pictured). The theatre production features more than 400 actors and 46 horses, as well as pigeons, birds of prey and a musical score written by the former drummer from The Police, Stewart Copeland.
Due to tight timescales, K+N will partly deploy triple driver crews using bus shuttles to ensure a smooth changeover at predefined control points.
The show starts its touring run in Hamburg tomorrow evening.
