Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

has garnered considerable UK patronage, enough to encourage the Canadian manufacturer to establish an assembly facility on Teesside that is large enough to serve all European regions.

Colledge Trailers' Middlesbrough site is being expanded with 32 bays, addtonal new craneage and assembly equipment. This includes an eightheaded beam welder that can weld nine planks in one run. and assemble a complete trailer side within an hour.

Many items will be sourced here, such as the 44ft-long aluminium side extrusions (too long for containers) and Dawbarn sheeting, with Keith floors, SAF axles, Wabco EB brakes and Truck-Lite lighting.

A crew of assembly and quality assurance technicians has begun training C,olledge staff, and Titan president Mike Kloepfer expects the first UK-built Titan to be completed next month.

"Those currently in use came from Canada, but their EU-standard components made the journey twice," he says "so building the trailers in the UK makes economic sense."

Key to the Thinwall's strength and durability is the trailer's extruded aluminium body construction, which has its hollow-core side panels assembled longitudinally and double-machine-welded inside and out.

Most of the Titan units working in the UK are of a similar spec to the model seen at the 2003 Recycling and Waste Management Show in Birmingham. That 13,6m Thlnwall hi-axle model with Keith Walking Floor had a 92m3 load capacity and weighs 9.32 tonnes. Floor options include Running Floor 2 with high impact or the V-floor system.

Since then, others have joined such well known waste carriers as Thanet Logistics, Yuell & Dodds and Sherwood Haulage, which has more than 70 in its fleet.

"Our new Teesside facility enables us to deliver more efficiently and remain competitive," says Kloepfer. The seaport access is vital in getting materials here efficiently and helping our European sales drive."
