Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Eight months ago it moved premises, tripling its production capacity. This helped it to introduce fresh designs and build trailers on a much more commercial scale.

Unlike its earlier, rugged steel designs, its latest walking floors are built to an all-aluminium wastespecification that offers greater payloads. Typically, its latest 95m3 waste-spec' moving floor trailer has a tare weight of just over 10 tonnes. giving a payload of around 26 tonnes when coupled to an eight-tonne tractive unit.

BMI is on Veolia Environmental's list of preferred suppliers and is has recently been asked to supply a handful of aluminium trailers with Keith 119 steel slatted floors. RO-R disc braked axles, steel wheels and manual sheeting systems.

French supplier Legras won the major part of the contract, but BMI managing director Brendan McIlvenny is happy to be judged by a major player in the UK waste industry against a worthy competitor. This loot-in-the-door' opportunity could prove fruitful over the next 12 to 24 months.

Fluctuations in the currency market have presented BMI and others with export opportunities, and the company is well positioned to compete with the big European manufacturers; certainly in the French, German and Dutch moving floor sectors. "We expect to have Whole Vehicle Type Approval in place by the autumn, well ahead of the 2013 deadline," says McIlvenny. "We have a technical salesman in France who's already tendering for orders."
