• The Tata SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) will be previewed at the NEC Motor Show next month and is due to be launched in the UK in 1999.
It is the Indian manufacturer's first vehicle to be designed specifically for western European markets, and will be built at a new factory.
The SUV will has a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel and switchable 2/4wheel drive (as used in Tata's 4x4 pickup) with air conditioning and folding rear seats to accommodate up to seven people.
