Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

EXCLUSIVE

by Charles Young • ERF is to offer Caterpillar's 12-litre dual-fuel diesel/gas engine in tractors and 8x4 rigids by the end of the year. The new engine can be run on a mixture of diesel and gas (CNG, LNG or LPG) or on diesel alone. The first examples will be completed next month: following R&D work they are due to he available to operators towards the end of the year.

ERF plans to offer it in EC12-badged tractors and refuse vehicles—waste contractor Onyx is showing an interest. It joins ERF's range of 29 engines. In the US ERF's parent company, Western Star, has been fitting the dualfuel Cat for some time. The response there has been positive but ERF has no firm sales plans for the UK. "That will depend very much on the Government,"
