• A family is appealing for witnesses after a grandmother died from injuries sustained in a hit-and-run accident involving a truck. Kevin True was driving his Volkswagen Polo on the inside lane of the northbound MI on 18 August when an HGV overtook and pulled in front of him, braking hard. True ran into the rear of the truck, which continued on its journey. The accident happened between Junction 29 and Woodall Services between 22.00hrs and 22.30hrs.
True was rescued by another truck driver who hod been travelling behind him, but his fiancée's mother, Alice Dunsworth from Corinsbrough in South Yorkshire, later died from her injuries.
