Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

by James Keeler • Animal rights protesters have left a truck driver in a critical condition in hospital after throwing rocks off a bridge over the A2 into the path of his vehicle. Steven Granger, who works for Dover-based Geoff Hart Transport, was running empty towards London between Whitfield and the Duke of York Roundabout in Kent, when a large rock hit his cab.

The front of the vehicle was destroyed in the accident.

The stone is understood to have been thrown by animal rights protesters who bungled an attack on a group of livestock lorries travelling towards Dover on the opposite carriageway under police escort.

Granger was taken to the intensive care unit of Haywards Heath Hospital in Sussex and described as "serious but stable".

A spokesman for the family says: "This is the last thing that should have happened to Steven. He always refused to carry live exports."

Witnesses to the attack, which took place on Tuesday 15 September, should contact the police on 01304 218110.
