EVERAL features new to this p.) country are incorporated in the new Botley Road, Oxford, terminal of Home Counties Petroleum Products. Ltd., which, as announced last week. has been formed by the Vacuum Oil Co., Ltd., and the City Motor Co. (Oxford), Ltd.. to distribute Mob ilgas petrol and oil fuel in Oxon and Berks and parts of Bucks and Northants.

The terminal site measures 120 ft, by 100 ft. and in each corner is a powerful standard [amp so that work may be carried out at night. The storage bay includes two 12.000-gallon tanks and a small slop tank in which any fuel spilt during loading may be contained

until being sent away for refining. One of the two big tanks is for the storage of Mobilgas Regular petrol and the other is for ivfobilgas Special, which will be available from February 1. '

Crompton Parkinson motors are installed to provide power for the two Sigmund pumps which are based on a concrete slab adjacent to the storagetank enclosure. These pumps have a delivery rate of 250 g.p.m. At the filling point, which is covered by a canopy 19 ft. high, are two Elmo overhead spring-loaded loading arms. The supply lines from the pumps incorporate air eliminators, strainers and flow-control valves. There is a Wayne meter in each filling point operating at a flow of 250 g.p.m. and the valves are employed to control the rate of delivery at this figure.

Supplies to the depot will be sent from Vacuum's refinery at toryton, which will soon be completed. Other bulk deliveries will come from Wandsworth. Vacuum deals in lots of 600 gallons in its fuel distribution system and uses A.E.C. eight-wheeled tankers of 3,600 gallons capacity for bridging work. The two vehicles based at Botley Road for distributing to retailers arc a Bedford S-type articulated 2.400-gallon tanker and a Bedford rigid tanker of 1.200 gallons.
