Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

by Karen Miles 0 Up to 260 drivers and 1,300 other staff at the ntermodal container operitor Freightliner will have :o wait until the New Year :o find out if they will keep :heir jobs. This follows the latest delay in announcing new owner for the Freightliner and Red Star 3usinesses.

The British Rail subsidiaries are now due to be .1p and running in private hands by April 1995.

Two months ago a decision on the successful bidder was promised by Christmas and Management Consortium Bid, the management buy-out attempt for Freightliner, has criticised the hold-up. "The first bid deadline was in mid-June and things have just gone on and on," it says. "The business is losing £3ni a month but there doesn't seem to be any real hurry."

The latest timetable revision from the BR Vendor Unit comes as the bidders wait for the Rail Regulator to provide guidance on track charges for railfreight by next summer. This is vital because track costs represent up to 60% of total rail freight costs.
