IN REPLY to Mr W. S. Broome's letter (CM, November 3) he has taken my comments on antilock completely out of context, and as I have raised many points in my article I am quite prepared to discuss what is fact or fantasy.
Despite Mr Broome's research, my findings are that anti-lock does extend stopping distances and partial anti-lock braking does not cure unbalanced braking.
The danger of a possible fatal articulated Vehicle crash following disturbance of a small piece of electronic equipment by a stray radio .frequency is becoming more likely, and as braking is being taken away from the driver and the vital control of this function is suspect, how can Mr Broome push my fears aside and treat them as mere fantasy.
