Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IT WAS very pleasant to receive the splendid silver paper knife as our award for second place in your livery competition.

Your objective of promoting action that will raise the image of the commercial transport industry is both commendable and desirable. The overall image of the industry must be improved so that the very real value it adds by getting goods to the right place at the right time, undamaged, is more readily recognised.

I believe that the power generated by presenting the industry in a positive light will pass through to those within it and ultimately lead to higher standards of appearance and performance. Hopefully that in turn will lead to an easing of the persistent and sometimes irrational pressure for "cheap transport" and a quest for good quality, value-for-money transport.

A part of this process, which you have lent your support to, is the public recognition of those that have, do and can make a contribution to its improved image. Can I suggest that the names of the designers, who worked with the companies that received your awards and commendations, are published in your magazine so the industry can be made aware of them and credit be given where it is due.

Finally, let me thank you for your hospitality and ask you to convey our gratitude to the panel of judges whose decision we have benefited from.
