Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A new tanker has been designed and built for Esso Petroleum Ltd. by Yorkshire Engineering and Welding Co. (Bradford) Ltd. The purpose of the new design is to allow greater flexibility in the Esso tanker fleet operations by avoiding the lengthy process of tank cleaning when the vehicle is required to carry different products.

The tanks are of 2,800gal capacity and the design of the mounting to the vehicle chassis allows removal in a few minutes. Four locating legs pick up in triangular brackets attached to the side webs of the chassis. The top flanges of these mountings mate with similar components on the base of the tank, the two flanges being bolted through to secure the tank in position. The locating legs do duty as stools upon which the tank can be stood, keeping its lower attachments clear of the ground.

Thirty-eight of these units have been ordered, at a cost of some £83,000. The chassis used are Dodge K1 100s powered by Cummins VALE vee-8 cylinder diesels driving through Allison automatic gearboxes.
