ORDERS AND DELIVERIES RELIANCE FAVOURED IN LANCASHIRE: Among recent deliveries

of A.E.C. Reliance 36-ft. buses and coaches are vehicles for three prominent independent operators in Lancashire. Ribblesdale Coachviays Ltd., of Blackburn, has taken five, powered by AH 470 engines and fitted with Plaxton Panorama 49-seat bodywork. Yelloway Motor Services Ltd., of Rochdale, has received the first of six coaches with AH 590 engines, six-speed gearboxes and Harrington 45-seat bodies, of which three vehicles are to have full air suspension. Lancashire United Transport Ltd., the second largest independent operator in the country, has chosen the AH 590-engined version for eight vehicles, of which six are to be employed as dual-purpose semi-coaches and the remaining two as buses for one-man operation.
TURKEY TAKES LEYLANDS: The first consignment of a f200.000 order recently placed by Leyland Group agents in Turkey. Kemal Ilasogiu Ticarethanesi, has left Leyland Motors for Istanbul. The order is for a total of 93 goods chassis, of which 55 are to be fitted with Sleepakabs made by Bank field Engineering of South port. The order consists of 68 Leyland Comets. 15 Super Comets and 10 Aibion Clydesdales.
ANOTHER BIG COMET BUS ORDER FOR INDIA : For the third time in recent weeks there is news of a large order for Ashok-Leyland Comet 16-ft. II-in.-wheelbase bus chassis. The latest one calls for 260 of this model for the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation, to augment the fleet of over 500 Comet buses already in service with the Corporation. WORLDMASTERS ON AIR: Dunlop Pneuride air suspension has been specified for 100 Leyland Worldmaster coach chas.sis forming part of a 1470,000 order for passenger and goods models received by Leyland Motors Ltd. from its agents in Buenos Aires, A. G. Pruden and Co. Other special chassis features of the Worldmasters include power-assisted steering and automatic chassis lubrication. The bodywork of some of the vehicles, to be used on long-distance services in Argentina, will incorporate full air conditioning.
MERCURYS FOR G.U.S.: G.U.S. Tramsport Ltd. has placed orders with A.E.C. Ltd. for 18 more Mercury chassis.
