The only change in the existing tayntion affecting road transport in the Irish Free State Budget, which was introduced on May 15, is the imposition of a special tax of 8d. on imported and 6d, on home-refined hydrocarbon

Judgment was issued in Glasgow Sherif( Court, last week, in an action raised by Glasgow Corporation against Worclie and Co., Ltd., for additional duties, plus intereSt, totalling 24 10s., alleged to be due in respect of two cattle carriers. Sheriff Berry found for the corporation, with costs.

The company used the vehicles, in 1924, for the transport of sheep and cattle, and it had floats superimposed on them. The corporation maintained that the floats were to be regarded as part of the vehicles and sued for additional duties in respect of them.
