dent he can get permission to build a 2,400m2 extension to a grain store on land at Wimblington, Cambridgeshire, despite the Environment Agency, Highways Authority and nearby residents stating it is inappropriate.
Knowles Transport wants to boost the agricultural side of its business and sell grain to merchants in the region. A reservoir and HGV parking also form part of the planning application. But a raft of objections including trafic, pollution and safety concerns led to the local council asking him to withdraw the application and provide more information.
“I withdrew it at their request and it will be re-submitted next month,” clariies Knowles. “It’s all being dealt with by specialist people who can get them the answers.
“There won’t be any trafic problems, there never has been. I bought it off a haulage contractor, it’s been a haulage yard for the last 40 years and there were a lot more vehicles than I intend on using.
“Objections can be over-ruled and changed once they get all the facts.”
