Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

LEWIS TANKERS HAS scooped a multi-million-pound distribution contract with Brenntag UK and Ireland.

The Hensall, East Yorkshire-based haulier will provide the transportation of bulk solvents for Brenntag’s industrial chemicals division, based in Scunthorpe.

A fleet of five multi-compartment solvents tanks will be used for the deal, with Lewis Tankers’ multi-user fleet available for back-up.

Previously, the distribution was handled partly in-house and partly by a number of road tanker operators on a contracted and spot-hire basis.

MD Stewart MacDonald says: “It means we can maximise utilisation of the contract fleet and then offer highly competitive trip rates when additional resources are needed.

“In essence, because we will be using dedicated solvents tanks from our multi-user fleet, it means we can minimise cleanout costs and maximise backload opportunities.”
