Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE INCREASING danger posed to truck drivers by people throwing objects at their vehicles has been highlighted yet again by two incidents this month.

The first occurred on 3 March on the A3 in Guildford, Surrey. The driver was travelling northbound at about 3.45pm when missiles were thrown from a bridge just past the A31 junction close to Manor Way.

Surrey has previously been the sgene of the deadly attack on driver Michael Little — he died of heart failure when an object was thrown through his windscreen in March 2003.

However on this occasion the stones only cracked the truck's windscreen and the driver escaped injury. The offenders are described as teenage males approximately 13 years of age. One of the offenders was wearing a black jacket; the other had brown curly hair.

The second attack occurred in the early evening of 8 March on the A14 in Northampton.

A Norfolk Line truck was travelling westbound towards the M1 when a brick was thrown by a group of youths who were on the A509 flyover at .19 near Kettering.

A Northamptonshire police spokeswoman says: "The truck driver was unhurt and continued on to the service station to examine the damage.

"He was very shaken, however, by what could have been an extremely serious incident."
