Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A STAFFORDSHIRE subcontractor who claims he is owed £15.000 by Kent firm White friar International is appealing for any other operators who are owed money to come forward.

The Department for Trade and Industry has now launched an investigation into the firm, but needs information from creditors.

Nick Blurton is one of a number of operators who contacted CM last year claiming that the Canterbury, Kent-based, company was withholding payment. Blurton says he is owed money for work dating back to October 2003.

His local 1■4.13, Janet Dean, is taking up his case. Blurton says: "We need to find out if there are any more hauliers who worked for Whitefriar between September 2003 and January 2004.1 have now lost everything. but I am determined not to give up my fight.

As Commercial Motor went to press we were unable to contact Whitefriar International.
