bus chassis have been ordered by Cape Town City Tramways Co., Ltd. TEN MORE FOR BRADFORD: Bradford City Transport, who will be taking delivery of five. A.E.C. Regent Mk. V double-deck buses later this month, have placed a repeat order for 10 more chassis of the same type. They will have Monocontrol gearboxes and —M.C.W. 70-seat forward-entrance bodies. Bradford operates 141 A.E.C. vehicles, out of a total strength of 186.

SOUTHDOWN TAKE DELIVERY: Southdown Motor Services, Ltd., have taken delivery of 50 Leyland Titan double-deckers. A further 40 Titans are on order.

EGYPTIAN ENGINES: An order has been received by A.E.C., Ltd., from Egypt for 17 AVU470 126-b.h.p. six-cylindered engines, complete with gearboxes. They will be shipped in the form of conversion kits for use as replacement units in various types of vehicle at present in service in the Middle East.

EXPORT COMETS: Punjab Roadways have ordered 26 Leyland Comet longwheelbase bus chassis, and the Vereeniging Brick and Tile Co., Ltd., South Africa, have ordered four Comet tippers and three Super Hippo tractive units.

CONTINENTAL A.E.C.s: Orders received by A.E.C., Ltd., from the European mainland included one for six Reliance chassis kits from Uniao de Transportadores para Importacao e Comercio Lda.. Lisbon, and another from A.E.C. Continental. S.A.. Antwerp, for eight Mandator chassis.

MORE TITANS: Another two Leyland Titan PD3.4 double-deck buses have been ordered by Caerphilly U.D.C. Transport Department, and Accrington Corporation have ordered two Titan PD3A.1 doubledeckers and two Tiger Cub PSUC1.3 single-deckers. On April 1, 12 new Leyland Titan 66-seaters will enter service with the Southampton Corporation Transpoet Department.

WEST AFRICAN ALBIONS: Contracts for over £100,000-worth of goods vehicles for operation in Ghana and Nigeria have been placed. The Government Transport Department of Ghana is to have 19 Albion Chieftains and 11 Reivers; Accra Municipal Council have ordered 15 Chieftains; and the North Nigerian Public Works Department have asked for 12 Chieftains.

OCTOPUS TANKERS: Four Leyland Octopus eight-wheelers with single-drive rear bogies have been ordered by Allied &Elk Tankers, the new bulk-transport company in the Storey Group of Ackworth. They will have Darham 4,000-gal. tanks.

DESERT SCAMMELLS: The General Geophysical Co., Houston, Texas, has

o ordered two Scarnmell Mountaineer 4 x 4 1,500-gal. water tankers and a Mountaineer stake-sided vehicle with winching equipment. They will operate inland from the Trucial Oman coast of the Persian Gulf.

RHODESIAN REIVERS: The Northern Rhodesian Government has ordered four water tankers based on Albion Reiver six-wheeled chassis.
