Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Aside from the ring-fencing of above-inflation fuel duty to fund training, the FTA makes a number of other suggestions:

• The DfT should investigate the effectiveness of classroom-based eco-driving training.

• The government should establish reward criteria for improvements in carbon efficiency.

• There may be a case for driver training and other fleet and fuel management tools to be better incorporated into the Transport Manager CPC.

• Increase the payload capabilities of HGVs (ie longer, heavier vehicles).

• The government could reduce the cost of delivering training by obtaining the rights to SAFED and making the course material freely available to training providers.
