Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

WITH REFERENCE TO Brian Devis' letter regarding the standard of LGV driving (CM 10 June): 1 believe that the poor standard of driving is partly due to the quality of instruction provided by training schools.

There is still no requirement for all LGV driving instructors to be tested and registered with the Driving Standards Agency (DSA). This allows the less scrupulous training schools to use instructors that have no formal qualifications. If all provisional LGV drivers had to undertake a minimum number of hours training with a DSA registered instructor, the standards would improve. Edward Pargeter
