It was with great interest that I read your article about H Askey Transport (CM10-16 June). it was good to read that they still have their vehicles brush painted—you may be surprised to hear that not only bus companies brush!

We are a small family-run bodybuilders, repairers and coach painters who still brush paint all our work.

I am the fourth generation in the business and as yet have no desire to change. The business was founded in 1877 as a bodybuilders and wheelwrights, working on horsedrawn vehicles. We have found that many of the skills of that time and have passed on are still relevant today.

We would like to wish H Askey Transport every success in future and are sure that their business will continue well into the second millennium. J Blake, JW Blake &, Son, Waltham Abbey, Essex.
