• [1: Waste has adapted the British Army's DROPS drawbar system to improve efficiency on its clinical waste collection service. A single drawbar outfit can now replace two 8x4 rigids with only a 7% drop in fuel consumption.

30.30 8x4 with a 12-tonne closecoupled tandem-axled Reynolds Boughton trailer transports 28m3 sealed containers from the Newcastle-upon-Tyne area to Dundee. The rigid collects a container and transfers it to the trailer using the DROPS hook loader system. It moves on for another container then hitches up using an automatic VBG coupler for the journey
