S. Bewley and Son, Wellington Woks, BaUetesea-Breidge, S.W. [STAND 110.]

This manufacturer makes a strong appeal on behalf of Gearolease, and also for the many other brands of lubricants which are by now well known to users, in addition, a number of heat-resisting paints and enamels of great use for steam wagons and petrol-van work is staged, while, of course, the familiar Howley red-painted petrol cans are much to the fore. Paints and varnishes are also disposed around the stand, while visitors will pay some little attention to the different brands of engine, cylinder and gearbox oils and greases which are prominently arranged.

British Petroleum Co., Ltd., 22, Fenchurch Street, E.C. [STAND 001 This company has an attractive stall in the gallery containing its usual features with a striking red and yellow background to please the eyes. A show-case contains a number of the shells after which the steamships of the company are named. Photographs of "flight pioneers" adorn the walls, which are tastefully decorated with scallop shells, the company's world-renowned trade-mark. The reputation and wide use of " Shell" spirit is well typified.

Critchley, Evans and Co., Carlton House, Regent Street, S.W. [STAND 142a.]

The great feature here is the collection of machined and rough motor-component parts which have acquired for this company an excellent reputation. In one of the main cases will be seen a series of crankshafts, which have been subjected to severe tests with the object of demonstrating the high quality of the steel employed. In addition, a number of cast-steel wheels of the hollow-spoke type serves to eceinplify the clean design of this product. Gearbox castings show the high efficiency obtained by this maker.

Glacier Anti-Friction Metal Co., Ltd., 112a, Queen Victoria Street, E.C. [STAND 125.]

Various samples of this company's special bearing metals are to be seen here, including that known as Findlay's special motor metal. A large number of the leading engine manufacturers of both Great Britain and abroad hasiadopted this particular composition for various productions, The company also manufactures die castings, and many specimens are shown, in order to demonstrate the high-class finish possible, straight from the machines.

W. T. Flather, Ltd., Tinsley, Sheffield.

[STAND 118.] Ubas steel has made for itself a reputation which can hardly be approached for the purpose for which it is primarily intended. Our readers will understand then that the centre of this stand is occupied by a case containing specimens of this high-class metal. On both sides of the stand will be found a selection of bright-drawn steels and pieces which have been subjected to stress and strain and torsion with the object of demonstrating the formation of the Flather metals. A carefully-selected range of acees.sories is also shown, and these comprise, of course, gear-blanks, valves, and the other classes of components without which the building of the modern commercial chassis is impossible.

Hall and Hall,

47, Leadenhall Street, London, E.G.

[STAND 101.] Hall and HaIl are well known in the trade for their " HaIlite " productions, and their stand is decorated with the numerous and varied types of washer made in their special " Hallite " material. No washer material is more widely used or has stood better the test of experience. It makes a clean joint, which withstands heat well, and retains its water or air-tiglftness indefinitely, while, when the joint is broken, the " Hallite " comes away without the scraping which is necessary with so many jointing materials. Its general use can be appreciated from an inspection.

Hoyt Metal Co. of Great Britain, Ltd., 26, Billiter Street, E.C.

[STAND 1261 This concern is one of the leading undertakings to specialize in " Babbitt " or " Anti-friction " metals specially suited for internal-combustion-engine hearings. The principal exhibit is that which constitutes the company's own special " I.C.E." alloy ; this is used by the majority of commercial-vehicle manufacturers throughout the country. The company also manufactures solid die-cast bearings, which are turned out true to .001 in., thus requiring no machining whatever.

Samuel Bros., Ltd., 65-67, Ludgate Hill, London, E.G.

[STAND 107.]

This well-known dealer is showing specimens of different coats and uniforms, together with driving gloves, rugs, etc., of interest to the user or driver of commercial motors. In addition, a range of wellfinished lamps, horns, and generators, made by the leading manufacturers, is attractively staged. Many of our readers are, of course, familiar with the "Omne Tempus " raincoat which the maker guarantees to be absolutely waterproof, and which it is prepared to guarantee rain-proof for a period of five years.
